Blood Sugar Sex Magic was one of the best albums of the 90s, without a doubt. I like some of their later stuff but they never came close to achieving the feeling of that album. Fruscanti is one of the best and most innovative guitarists of our time though and they're all rock solid musicians and will, without a doubt, be fantastic in concert. I want to see them too at some point.

Their studio albums sound very good but i heard a live album and i didn't like it. They were singing out of tune and i wasn't impressed with them.

I may go see them at the end of August. I love love love them. Their new album, Stadium Arcadium, is absolutely amazing.

In my oppinion bands who don't sound good live they are not good. In the studio anyone can sound perfect but if they don't sound good live i can't see the point liking them.

Nikos.
I, personally, disagree with that statement. Someone can be a good song writer and write great music but can be a horrible performer. In a studio a person like that can shine, a good song can be ruined by bad live performance. Evenif what you say is generally true I think there are instances where music just works better when recorded, especially electronic music, sometimes the beauty of a song is in the production tricks, the little cross fading overdubs, Gospell choirs, strings etc, in a studio you can employ professionals to add to your song that you could not do live. I think a good song should work both in studio and live and should not even sound the same recorded and played live but there are definitely instances where a song is simply such that it has a better appeal when recorded.

I agree with you. Some people could be better in the studio but red hot chili pepers should be able to realise that and only produce albums. They shouldn't waste our money going to see them live if they are not good and release live albums as well. But what i don't like is when artists think that the audience are stubit and they wouldn't realise if something is out of tune or any other mistakes and they still sell it.
But because i want to be fair i will tell you that. I only heard one of their live album their live recording in London two years ago. Maybe this particular album happened to be bad. Maybe their other live performance were nice maybe they were in a bad day i don't know. But what i heard didn't sound good to me.
